A Friend is a Friend in All Seasons

Friends come in all shades and are easily identified. There are also "friends" who come and go, better known as acquaintances or fair weather friends. However, there are friends who are with and for you, 100% and more. We can count on them as much as we can count on ourselves. And, when the occasion arises that we're depleted or another situation consumes us, they are there doing and representing in our best interest. Over the years, I've come to cherish and, thankfully nourish, true friendship. Moreover, I've been nourished and literally held up by the truest of friends.

Perhaps it's a coincidence, something that I don't even believe in (LOL), but, just today - a very special day, I've had the blessing of interacting in one way or another with a number of true FRIENDS. Perhaps some remembered while others did not; it doesn't even matter. What matters is that we connected

on the first anniversary of my dear Mother's transition from this world. One is at her husband's side as she awaits his departure. We've encouraged one another many times in the past as one or the other have assumed a similar position and today, it is my honor to be available for them as both are extended family. Another asked me what I remembered (today) about Mom that made me smile. Guess what? Thinking about it left me with a smile on my face and heart. My Mom was also my friend. I felt that she and they encircled me with love and affirmation today, possibly without me realizing just how much it was needed.

In good times....bad times....loss of employment....loss of a loved one....promotions....demotions ....illness....disease....marriage....divorce....rejections....whatever life brings, a friend loves at all times.
